Cloyd, my own dear son, say I received yours of April 8th 1927.  It brought me good cheer, Really done me good.  I had written you twice – had received no answer.  It made me uneasy for it seemed there must be something out of place.   And sure enough your illness accounts for it.  But blessed be the name of out Blessed Lord our Great Father for restoring you to health again Cloyd.

I believe in God as being the Giver and Author of all life and our whole life depends on the true knowledge given…

…by that all wise, all good and all loving God Allmighty Spirit of Life which means and should mean all that life means too seals true knowledge from the Great Fountain of Knowledge and what we want is to do what we know is right.

Yes Cloyd, I was born in 1842.  The 15th of February.  Now then, take your own time.  Figure my age and yours and that your family and names.

Say Cloyd, if you think you are settled for life and should I live near 100 years, I may come out to see you for I shall long to see you and yours all that time.

I had a letter from Vida…

… Saturday, they were well.  Frank is east of the mountains.  He sells shoes to merchants for the Great St. Louis Shoe Company.  Is doing quite well.

Ewell thinks he wants to go to Canada.  But what he wants to do is quit fretting and stick to business.  He held down $5 per day quite a while though lately he was cut one dollar.

Cloyd I help all the kids.  Oscar sent Ewell $60.

I take the Christina Science Monitor.  They think it doubtful about you getting your rye (?) through within a year.

… have a good house.  They are paying for it on the installment plan.  Frank is a shifter – he can pay for it but I think he is trying to sell and make a little.  I hope I have answered what you wish to know.
It is getting near dinner time so God bless you all.  With love to all,

Truly yours

A.J. Foster
